It would be handy to have the ability to disable or hide when you were last on, similar to "invisible" mode on other social media platforms.
It would be good if this also acted within the inbox to remove the message about whether or not the person has been active since the last message was sent.
Not sure what you think about that? I think it would just help add an extra layer of privacy and reduce the feeling/"need" to interact with people if you'd rather just pop-on and check things before disappearing.

Thank you. I like the idea and considered it before. But then I thought it wouldn't make sense since that info could be found out on the People page just by sorting by date. I would still make an option to hide it from the profiles for that little extra layer of privacy, but I know that people will send bug reports when it's missing on some profiles (unless I put "hidden" there instead or something). I could just make UMD not update your Last On date, which would be pretty easy, but that might not jive if you upload new content and your Last On date is older than that. I dunno, every time I think about it, it just gets more complicated. I'm open to thoughts. On the inboxes, I put the "not on since you last wrote them" to prevent people from sending multiple followups thinking they'd been ignored. It really seems to reduce that.
Thanks, I definitely see the conundrum with the implementation.
I think hiding it on profiles would be a good method, possibly then having those who have this set appearing at the bottom of the People section and simply "Unknown" as the last on time.
Not updating it at all feels, somewhat "dirty"... but then that might just be my recurring nightmares of DB management coming to the surface
I can see how the current implementation would reduce inbox spam though, but then I have found I get jumped on occasionally, if I then show as being online.
Of course me just getting better at managing the inbox is also a solution.
